The Fourth Quarter is off and running in the computer lab. The students have been very busy blooming with new skills. In Junior High, the students have been refining their Internet research skills. The Eighth graders are creating a multimedia presentation “ABC Book of St. Louis, Missouri”. Grade six is working on their “ABC Book of Cincinnati, Ohio” PowerPoint presentation as well. Seventh grade is using Excel to design a timeline of their life and a corresponding timeline of world events. We will continue to work on the basic skills as well.

The Intermediate grades are working equally hard. Grade Five is finishing up using spreadsheets to construct graphs. Next they will be working on adding special effects to their PowerPoint presentations. Grade Four is building a data base on the countries in Kentucky. Once, all the data is entered, the students will search the data base to locate specific information. They will then create a PowerPoint presentation using slide transition and text animation. Third grade are working in Word, using the alignment buttons, and inserting words and clip art to create original poetry.  They, too, will be working on a PowerPoint presentation.

The Primary students continue to make great progress. Grade One has been using the left and right alignment buttons to type a letter using the correct format. They will be using several software programs to strengthen their math skills. Both First and Second grade will surf the internet on a scavenger hunt to locate specific. Grade Two is digging for information about dinosaurs and constructed a graph to show the length of each dinosaur.

All in all, great things are happening in the lab!
