Fourth Grade Gives Thanks:
We would like to thank all the parents who sent in treats
and helped with the Halloween Party to make it special for the kids.
We give a big thank you to the adults that helped chaperone
on our field trip to the Brennan House.
It was a very interesting trip, and the children learned a lot about the
Victorian Era in Louisville. Hopefully they are a little more appreciative
of the luxuries they have today!
School News:
We just wanted to remind you that the Challenge Words in the
Spelling Units will now count as part of their grade and no longer be just
bonus points.
During the first quarter we mainly focused on the addition
and subtraction basic facts. In the
second quarter we will be assessing the children’s knowledge of multiplication
and division facts. Any practice you can
have them do at home will be very beneficial to their success in Math.
They have been brushing up on their computer skills! The children have been working on Power Point
Slides and Bar Graphs. The students in
4L researched and created a power point on a saint. The students in 4W are in the process of
researching a children’s author and creating a power point slide for a
presentation in early December. In Science they found out how much they would
weigh on another planet and created a bar graph to show their results. They are doing a fantastic job!!
Congrats to
the winners of the Peacebuilder’s essay/poster
contest that the school held. The
winners from 4W : Jessica Koebel
(essay) and Hayden Polk (poster). The winner from 4L: Marcie Ohlendorf (poster).
